Making a difference, every day

Danielle is a Nuffield Health’s lead Radiographer. For Danielle, her career has always been about people. Both the people she’s able to help and the people she works with to make that happen. Even her decision to be a Radiographer was based on her wanting to work with people:

“I wanted to pursue a career in radiography because I really wanted a job where I wasn't just sat at a desk all day and where I was able to interact with lots of people.”

“I chose a career with Nuffield Health because I'd come to this hospital as a student and had a really good experience here. So I always remembered that when I was looking to apply for jobs.”

At Nuffield Health, our commitment to Connected Health means that everyone in every role, is part of the same system with the same aim; making patients healthy and keeping them healthy. As a Radiographer, Danielle plays an essential part in screening patients and diagnosing them. Connected Health means she gets to see her impact on the patients directly and work across different departments.

“The thing I enjoy most about my role is being able to feel like I’ve made a difference to patients that I’m looking after. But what I enjoy most about Nuffield Health specifically is that it’s a smaller team which means you have a lot of interactions with multiple departments within the hospital."

Connected Health only works when all of our colleagues are on the same page and share the same level of commitment to patients. Danielle has seen this throughout her time at Nuffield Health:

“My colleagues are all really motivated. I frequently see them go above and beyond to do the best for patients and we work really well as a team to support each other.”

But that work pays off. When colleagues support each other, patients feel the benefits. That attracts more members to the team who want to make a real difference for patients. And for Danielle, those people are who it’s all about.

“A proud moment that I've had in my role happened about a year ago. I had scanned a patient with a student Radiographer and she wrote a really nice letter to the hospital to say thank you for the treatment and the experience she had. The student Radiographer that I scanned her with has now actually applied for a job with us and she's starting soon.”

“My colleagues are all really motivated. I frequently see them go above and beyond to do the best for patients.”
