Being given the chance to excel.
Meet Jay Ali, Head of Regional Technology Service Delivery.
Tell us about the team you work in?
I oversee the Technology Regional, TechBar, and Service Desk teams who all play a pivotal role in defining the landscape of Technology service and support at Nuffield Health. Despite my relatively short one-year tenure with Nuffield, we've achieved substantial achievements in how we empower and assist our internal stakeholders. This period has witnessed a multitude of accomplishments, and it's truly invigorating to be a member of a team that not only welcomes change but also eagerly anticipates further growth.
Why did you choose to work at Nuffield Health?
Health and fitness have always been important to me, coupled with a keen fascination for technology and its ever-evolving impact on our world. In my prior positions, I found fulfilment in helping others, contributing value to organisations, and collaboratively constructing accomplishments that we took pride in as a team. Nuffield Health appeared to be the ideal setting, offering the chance to enable individuals to excel and make a substantial contribution to a powerful mission of creating a healthier nation.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Nuffield Health?
This is a hard one, but if I were to choose just one aspect, I'd emphasise the privilege of belonging to an organisation and team where individuals exhibit remarkable dedication and exert significant effort every single day. This commitment translates into a profound positive influence on our overall service. It's genuinely inspiring to hear and read all of the stories of ordinary people who benefit from our services and be able to relate that back to the work we do in our day-to-day.
What is your career highlights?
The single initiative that truly stands out is the comprehensive reconstruction of our Technology Service Desk. While it posed numerous challenges and required some tough decisions, we made the right call in the best interests of the charity. It's exhilarating to witness the early impact the team has already started to make, even though we’re not yet at world-class status. The team's growth is a thrilling development, and I’m excited to see the team's long-term achievements.
